Project Account: 64-Unit Row Expansion
A Gyeongsang suite operator planned to add 32 units to an existing 32-unit row rated at 0.05+ throughput. Electrical capacity allowed the expansion but cooling headroom was uncertain.
Stage 1 — Cooling survey: Intake mapping showed the new row would pull air across the exhaust of the existing row if installed as planned. Duct adjustment plan cost less than a second HVAC line.
Stage 2 — Procurement advisory: Compared three vendor options. Selected unit delivered 6% better hash per kWh at 28°C intake than the operator’s first choice.
Stage 3 — Benchmark batch: First eight units from the shipment tested at bench before rack install. One unit flagged for fan defect; replaced by vendor under warranty.
Outcome: Full row operational at target throughput. Operator reports stable intake below 30°C through first summer month. Annual maintenance contract signed for both rows.
